“No one likes asking for money and we all get tired of being asked to donate at every turn. We also know no one likes to sell candy, wrapping paper, or magazines. To keep our fundraising as straightforward as possible, we have one major fundraiser each year, Walkathon. The vast majority of funds BESCA raises come from this single event. In addition, we have smaller fundraisers throughout the year that provide simple ways to support BESCA and the programs we provide for our students. ”
Donate
We always welcome donations from our community. Your donations support many programs that enrich
our students. BESCA is an official 501(c)(3) organization, Tax ID #23-7399164, and donations are tax deductible
to the extent allowed by law. If your company offers corporate matching, please consider this for donations you make.
Note: Please do NOT make Walkathon donations here - information about how to donate to the Walkathon will be sent home with students generally one (1) month before the event
Walkathon
BESCA has held an annual Walkathon for over 30 years. This tradition is one of the most loved events at Booksin. Students walk all day to raise money for Booksin through pledges and to earn prizes for the miles they walk. In addition, BESCA raises money through a variety of other activities offered at the Walkathon, including food, Teacher Fun Drawing, Fun with Friends, and a Silent Auction to entertain parents while their kids are walking. Celebrate Booksin
BESCA is moving into our second year hosting a spring event called Celebrate Booksin. This adults only evening builds community and raises funds for programs not covered by our normal budget. This event includes an auction, dinner, dancing, and more! Learn more about Celebrate Booksin.
Silent Auction
BESCA holds a large Silent Auction on Walkathon day. Families and friends are invited to browse the auction in person or online to find gifts, toys, jewelry, vacation packages, sports tickets, and much more! The auction is a great way to support BESCA and take home something for yourself or a friend. All bidding is online, making it easy for you to bid while walking with your children or for extended family to bid from home.
Corporate Match
Many companies match charitable donations made by their employees. Corporate Match is a great way to maximize your contributions to Booksin - including monetary donations and volunteer hours.
