Project Cornerstone Asset Building Champions (ABC) is a parent-run program that allows parents to connect with students. ABC readers spend time in the classroom every month, read a book to the class, lead a group discussion and facilitate a class activity.  Each book addresses a different subject and shares lessons that help students develop skills and learn how to handle situations such as getting picked on at school, how to be a good/loyal friend and how to face your fears.  Project Cornerstone is based on 41 Developmental Assets.  The assets are the positive values, relationships, skills and experiences that help children and teens thrive.

“Young people with high asset levels are most likely to make healthy behavior choices, while kids with lower asset levels are more likely to get involved with negative or risky behaviors like violence, trouble in school, etc.”

This is a wonderful program that has 2,900 adults reading to 38,000+ kids in 150 schools across Santa Clara County each month.
